This month the online poker site PartyPoker.com has launched a new promotion called The Gladiator. “Accept the challenge of The Gladiator” says the invite to the promotion. The challenge is to achieve set targets for a specified number of days during May in order to win attractive rewards. The targets are accumulation of loyalty points. The larger the target that is achieved and the more number of days for which it is achieved, the greater the reward will be.
The Gladiator promotion has been running at the PartyPoker.com online poker site since May 1 and it will end on May 31. Since almost half the month is over players who have not participated in the promotion so far will find themselves ineligible for the biggest prizes. For example players who earn 1,200 points per day for 30 days in the promotion passage will win a $7,000 WSOP 2011 package.
However, there is plenty that can be won in the remaining 15 days. At the lowest end, earning 5 points for 5 days will win the player a seat in a $2,500 freeroll at the PartyPoker.com online poker site. Earning 1,200 points for 15 days will fetch a prize of $2,000 in cash. One of the advantages in The Gladiator promotion is that the players can achieve the targets on any days during the promotion period and not necessarily consecutive days.
The loyalty points at PartyPoker.com are called PartyPoints. Players earn PartyPoints for play on all real money cash games at the online poker site, including jackpot games. Two PartyPoints are awarded for every $1 contributed in rake by the player. In a raked hand an individual player’s rake contribution is calculated by dividing the total rake collected in that hand by the number of players who were dealt cards. Players can also earn PartyPoints when they enter tournaments at PartyPoker.com. Two PartyPoints are awarded for each $1 paid in tournament fees.
PartyPoker.com has announced a Summer Million poker tournament at the online poker site on August 7. It will offer a guaranteed prize pool of $1 million. The qualifiers to the Summer Million have already started. Those who want to avoid paying the $600 buy in at the last minute can try qualifying for as little as $1.
